Cambridge College School of Education to Host Public Event on Wed., Aug. 31 …

/PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The Cambridge College School of Education is proud to welcome Dr. Timothy Sullivan, Vice President of the Massachusetts Teachers Association, to a public lecture and forum on the future of education.  The event will be held Wednesday, August 31st at 6 p.m. at 80 Prospect Street in Cambridge.

The event is titled, “Future Careers in Education: Navigating the 21st Century Jobscape,” and will focus on how large-scale economic and social shifts will shape the career prospects of current and future educators.

“There will always be a demand for well-qualified teachers,” says Dr. Sullivan. “Teaching and medicine are two fields with relatively stable employment despite the recession….with the national population expected to grow by 100 million over the next 40 years, the demand for teachers will remain high.”

We learned that the Chinese government has an aggressive plan to provide higher education opportunities for its people, in part by building 800 new universities.
