A special education teacher at Mt. Hermon Junior High School in Washington Parish has been arrested and booked with child pornography possession, and authorities have said additional charges could be forthcoming. According to the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office, Murray J. “Joey” Duncan Jr., 45, was arrested Wednesday (April 16) and is being held in the Washington Parish Jail on a $ 50,000 bond.
Sheriff Randy Seal said in a news release that Duncan’s arrest followed an investigation into a complaint about sexual abuse involving a juvenile. Seal said that investigation is continuing and that his office plans to file additional charges against Duncan.
Duncan allegedly confessed to improper behavior with juveniles and to possessing child porn. Seal said Duncan gave investigators consent to search his home, where they found child porn.
