NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – A grant has been awarded to Comer School Development Program (SDP) founder and Yale Child Study Center professor James P. Comer.  W.K. Kellogg Foundation of Battle Creek, Michigan has awarded $ 600,000 to help advance child-centered efforts in education.

Comer’s goall is to create a collaborative school system model in New Haven.  It will collaborate New Haven Public Schools, Southern Connecticut State University and SDP to help build environments where students are better prepared for academic success and success in life.
